Co-curricular activities needed to counteract school violence: Sadtu

SADTU in KZN says the Education Department's budgetary cuts are partly to blame for the increasing violence at schools.

There have been fatal stabbings at two KZN schools recently - while in the North West - a teacher was killed - allegedly by a 17-year-old school boy.
Speaking in Durban today - the teacher union's Nomarashiya Caluza says they believe one of the reasons behind the violence is a lack of school activities.
