A north coast school has closed its gates following protests by learners and parents.
KZN Education spokesperson, Muzi Mahlambi says the protest at Nonhlevu Secondary School in Groutville started on Tuesday.
It's alleged pupils and parents don't want three of the teachers working at the school.

"They don't want three teachers that they were allegedly promised that they were going to be redeployed and they were surprised when they returned to school to find them there. So their protest is based on that," said Mahlambi.
Teaching and learning have been suspended.
Mahlambi says the department is in talks with the school management.
He says, learners need to focus more on their textbooks.
"We want to have our learners respecting whosoever is put in front of them. What connects them is the textbooks and their subjects. As to how educators are employed or redeployed is none of their business but we are engaging with the school."
