Class of 2023 sit for first matric exam finals on Monday

Grade 12s will
start putting pen to paper on Monday in crucial exams that mark the final
chapter of their high school careers.
English Home Language Paper 1 and Second Language Paper 1 are being written on Monday morning.
The afternoon sessions for the first papers of Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telegu, Urdu, Hebrew and German.
Caleb Deydren, who is a matric pupil at Westville Boys' High School, says he has mixed emotions about the final exams.
"I am feeling quite nervous because it is my first big exam. My whole high school career came to this. So I am quite nervous but a bit confident."
Caleb says he's been managing his stress through exercising.
Aphelele Khuzwayo of Pietermaritzburg Girls' High says she's worried about Maths, English, and Physics Paper 2.
"Honestly speaking, I am not that stressed about the exams. I am just stressed about certain exams like the ones I didn't do well in.
"But overall, I am not that stressed. I am not dealing well with the pressure, but you know what keeps me going is that by four weeks, I will be done."
