Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Some residents of
Clairwood in Durban want the three people accused of murdering two 10-year-old
boys to never be granted bail.
Amahle Maliwa, Liziwe Ngwayishe and Ali Yusuf abandoned their bail application in the Durban Magistrate's Court today.
Some residents, who were at court, are still reeling from Njabulo Mankayi and Luyanda Msomi's deaths.
"They deserve to be in jail. They killed our children," said one man.
"I don't feel right about what is happening in Clairwood," said another woman at the court.
Meanwhile, there was outrage as one of the accused in the dock grinned throughout proceedings.
Njabulo's father, Thandaza Mankayi says he was shocked to see the woman, who is also his ex-girlfriend, smiling.
"When I see her, I don't want to talk to her. I was surprised to see her smiling. She killed my son, but is still smiling," he said.
