Clairwood Hospital added to list of quarantine sites in KZN
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Clairwood Hospital, south of Durban, has been added to the list of KwaZulu-Natal's quarantine and isolation sites.

Health MEC, Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu visited the facility on Tuesday.
She says over 150 patients can be isolated at the complex - 40 can be quarantined.
"We are going to have 159 isolation beds, and those are beds that we will be able to utilise.
"We only have about 149 ICU beds in the province, but the good thing about the isolation beds that we have is that should the need arise, we will be able to convert those beds into ICU beds."

Simelane-Zulu says while the department's invested in field hospitals - including one at the Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg - it became crucial to renovate existing facilities to make them COVID-19 ready.
"Instead of just putting up only field facilities, we thought it would be necessary for us to invest in our own facilities. As a result, we decided to create a few facilities in every district in the whole province.
"The district of eThekwini we've got two facilities that we are reconfiguring or that we have reconfigured and Clairwood is one of the biggest."
