Civilian, suspect killed in KwaDukuza shootout
KwaDukuza police are investigating a case of
murder and attempted murder following a shooting.
They say a man was ambushed by gunmen with rifles while driving on Balcomb Street last night.
It's alleged the assailants opened fire and the man shot back - killing one of them.
Police say the rest fled the scene leaving behind their getaway car.
IPSS's Paul Herbst says their paramedics responded to the scene.
“When paramedics arrived, it was established that a taxi related shooting had occurred,” Herbst said.
“One association member had sustained fatal injuries. A second person, a member of the public, who was in his driveway, was unfortunately struck by a stray bullet, resulting in critical injuries. Advanced life support was initiated, he transported to hospital but unfortunately passed away," Herbst.
