The suspect believed to be behind a recent fatal shooting in Durban North is due back in the Durban Regional Court next week.
Chong Cheng was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport last week, apparently while trying to flee South Africa.
A group of women were shot at a house on Adelaide Tambo Drive over a week ago.
One died, three were wounded, and a fifth woman escaped unharmed.
Cheng made his second appearance in court on Tuesday.

Provincial police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says he's been charged with one count of murder and four of attempted murder.
"The suspect, 36-year-old Chong Cheng, a Chinese national, was remanded in custody. The investigation also uncovered that the suspect had earlier cut a safe open and stole two firearms at a residence on Campbell Drive in La Lucia.”
