Chilly weekend brings light snow on Sani Pass, southern Berg

A cold front passing through KwaZulu-Natal this weekend has seen low temperatures across the province, accompanied by light snow in the southern Drakensberg and Sani Pass area near Underberg.

Snow had fallen in Impendle, Himeville, Underberg and Sani Pass by late yesterday, as well as in the early hours of this morning. 

The Snow Report says snow is currently only visible on the mountain tops.

Temperatures in KwaZulu-Natal have dropped below 20 degrees with Durban reaching a maximum of 19 degrees. Temperatures peaked at 17 and 20 degrees in Pietermaritzburg and Richards Bay respectively.
