The body of a child that was found in Buccleuch earlier this week is yet to be identified.
According to police the parents of 3-year-old Everlate Chauke, who was swept from her father's arms during the recent flash floods in Alexandra, went to the government mortuary in Hillbrow yesterday but had to submit DNA samples.
"The parents went to the government mortuary but they had to submit DNA samples so that the body can be identified," police spokesperson, Kay Makhubela told Jacaranda FM News.
Makhubela says they were advised by a pathologist that DNA samples would be the only way to identify the body.

"The DNA results does not take that long because the matter has been prioritised," Makhubela said.
Makhubela has warned members of the public to stay clear from the banks of any river or low water bridge as more rain and possible localised flooding that have been predicted by the South African Weather Service.
"Avoid areas where there are lots of water. Be on the safe side and do not try and cross any river that is in flood," Makhubela said.
The South African Weather Service issued a watch for severe thunderstorms leading to possible heavy downpours and localised flooding in parts of Gauteng, Mpumalanga, the Free State and the North West Province.
