The eThekwini Municipality says it is fully prepared to host the thousands of tourists who will be spending their holidays in Durban.
Mayor, Zandile Gumede says there are facilities that specifically deal with cases of lost children.
"Our city is clean, our facilities are in order and our security is on track. A [tagged wrist band] is going to be available so that if a child gets lost, parents will be able to find the child. Lifeguards now have all the equipment," she says.
