Child marriage, gender violence centre of KZN Women's Parly Sitting

Women from various political parties have gathered in Pietermaritzburg to deliberate on issues affecting women.
The annual women's parliament is taking place over the course of today and tomorrow at the Vulindlela Stadium.
Some of the topics and debate include gender-based violence, patriarchy as well as child marriages.
Chairperson of the multi-party women's caucus, Nonhlanhla Khoza says they'll be holding other events across the province throughout the month, in celebration of women.

"We need women who will be torchbearers. We should serve women who will talk about women's issues in the Legislature and in the National Assembly.
"In all municipalities - we should have a reasonable number of women who will talk about gender-based violence and the issue of patriarchy. Without doing it ourselves, we won't succeed," she said.
