The retail price of LP Gas Retail will decrease by 70 cents per kilogram.

The main reasons for the fuel price adjustments include the depreciating Rand against the US dollar, as well as a decrease in the price of crude oil.

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy says the changes will take effect on Wednesday.

The Automobile Association has welcomed the fuel price drop announcement.

Spokesperson Layton Beard says however government needs to review the fuel price.

"The current high fuel prices must still be a driving force for a review of the fuel price structure, as well as an audit of the existing prices within that structure."

He says AA were pleased that their calls in this regard have reached the ears of the Minister of Finance, Mr Enoch Godongwana.

"We welcome his pre-Christmas comments that the fuel price structure needs a critical re-look, and we call on him to make quick work of this issue ahead of his 2022 Budget Speech in February."
