Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
Police have seized a cache of guns and ammunition from a private security company in Chatsworth that - it's alleged - has been operating in contravention of the Firearms Control Act.

A 40-year-old man has also been arrested.
This as the result of an intelligence driven operation which took place on Friday.
"Three firearms, two magazines, a police scanner and a number of rounds of ammunition were confiscated. The suspect will be charged for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and contravening the Firearms Control Act as well as the Electronic Communications Act. He will appear in the Chatsworth Magistrates Court on Monday," police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele says, "An appeal is made to security companies to act within the ambit of the law. Police have intensified their operations with regular inspections being conducted to ensure compliance. Failure to comply with the Firearms Control Act will result in the arrest of perpetrators".
