Residents in Chatsworth's Bayview area, south of Durban have been left frustrated after one week without electricity.
Several houses on Turnstone Avenue have had their lights out since last Friday.
Technicians have been unable to attend to the area as they've faced death threats from groups demanding contracts from eThekwini municipality.
Here's Lionel Naicker who lives in the area.
"From that time until now, we have no lights. In the mornings, we have to take a bath in somebody else's place. You have to buy pies for the kids to eat. There's a lot of inconvenience caused," he said.
The municipality's issued an urgent notice informing residents of delays to services including, repairing electricity faults, attending to power outages as well as water leaks and burst pipes and the delivery of water.
