Chatsworth officer accused of rape granted bail

A Chatsworth metro police officer accused of raping a teenage girl - has been granted bail of R1500.
Moses Dlamini, who's with Police Investigative Directorate - IPID - says the 29-year-old man was arrested this past weekend.
The child came forward saying she had been raped in the Welbedacht area on Friday.
The officer appeared briefly yesterday in the Chatsworth Magistrate's Court, where he was granted bail.

One of the conditions is that he move from his current address. Dlamini says they've opened their own probe.
"We can confirm IPID is investigating a case of rape against a police officer from Chatsworth - who allegedly raped a 16-year-old teenager," Dlamini said.
