Chatsworth man dies after suspected heart attack on beachfront

Police are probing the death of a man who died moments after he was pulled from the water on Durban's beachfront earlier this week.

Police Divers from Durban Search and Rescue - along with their eThekwini Metro Police counterparts - were called out to assist with a near drowning at Laguna Beach on Monday morning.
A Chatsworth man had got into difficulty while swimming.
He was pulled from the water by local lifeguards but died while talking to them.
Various emergency workers at the scene tried to revive him but to no avail.
Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala says an inquest docket has been opened.
