Certificate handover preparation for Zulu King underway
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
eThekwini says preparations are in full swing - as the city prepares to
host Amazulu King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini for the royal certificate handover
ceremony.
Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda led a delegation of Exco members to Nongoma to visit the King and deliver a comprehensive report on Saturday's event.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will hand over the kingship certificate of recognition to his majesty at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
"His Majesty extended his gratitude following the report that they have tabled to him. Our Mayor also thanked His Majesty for making some time to meet with Exco," says municipal spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela.
Meanwhile, EFF leader Julius Malema says politics should be kept out of the event.
"He must hand over certificate after doing that he must sit down. We want a beautiful day we don't want a messy day. Ramaphosa must not speak at the coronation of the King. It is not his day, it's the day of the King."
