Controversial rapper, Kanye West announced his intentions to run for the nation's top office during the 2015 MTV Music Awards. #Kanye2020 began trending on social media. In the days leading up to the inauguration, West was photographed alongside the then President-elect at the Trump Tower.

Former president, Barack Obama offered tongue-in-cheek advice to West on how to win the White House.
