Inanda, Umlazi police stations record highest rape cases in SA - Cele
389 were murdered in the country between October and December
It’s a 6.6% increase in the number of murders compared to the three months before.
Releasing the quarterly crime statistics, Police Minister, Bheki Cele said Mpumalanga province had recorded the highest spike at 13.7%.
He says the number of reported rape cases nationally also went up, with Inanda and Umlazi police stations having recorded the highest number of rape cases in the country over this period.

"This is a bad figure, this is an increase of 181 cases amounting to 1.5 increase to the previous reported period."
Overall, there was a 5% increase in the number of sexual offences reported between October and December.
