Cele: Police to fast-track DNA tests on Krugersdorp suspects
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Police Minister Bheki Cele says as part of their
investigations into the horrific Krugersdorp gang rapes, they'll fast-track DNA
testing on the 84 arrested suspects.

“I know that many people have been arrested but there are perpetrators amongst those people. The evidence that has been collected by the police, biological evidence will help link us to the real perpetrators. Yes, some are connected as illegal foreign nationals but we need the perpetrators.”
Eight women, who shooting a music video at West Village, were robbed and raped by a gang of armed men on Thursday.
A police crackdown on zama zamas on Friday netted 84 suspects.
Two were shot dead and a third person wounded.
Cele, who met with the women and their families in Alexandra on Sunday, said they'll receive psychosocial support.
“They are quite traumatised, they are not in a good shape.”
