Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Minister Bheki Cele has instructed police officers to not go easy on criminals.

Cele issued the order at the funeral of Sergeant Sibongiseni Khoza at a community hall in Tongaat, north of Durban yesterday.
Khoza was gunned down while he was on duty in Sundumbili last week.

The police sergeant and two officers were responding to a complaint about a random shooting at a homestead.
When the officers approached the suspects, the gunmen are said to have opened fire on them, killing Khoza. Cele says there is no place for criminals in the country.
"Criminals plan to eliminate whoever is in their way."
