Case opened against Julius Malema: Minister Nhleko
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The Police Minister says a case has been opened at the Hillbrow Police Station against Julius Malema.
Addressing the media at Parliament, Nathi Nhleko said recent utterances by the EFF leader are reckless and have the potential to plunge the country into chaos.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Malema said they were prepared to take up arms and fight the government if the fairness of the upcoming local government elections is threatened.
Nhleko says political leaders need be careful about what they say.
"We would like to appeal to all our people that in the exercise of our rights, we need to show responsibility. We need to refrain from using the genuine grievances that are afflicting various communities to drive narrow political agendas that have the potential to destabilise the country," he said.
