Case opened after newborn baby found near Phoenix
A case of child negligence has been opened after a newborn baby was found abandoned in Caneside near Phoenix, north of Durban.
Local community members found the baby in some bushes and immediately notified authorities.
Gareth Naidoo from KZN VIP Medics was at the scene.
"The child was assessed and found to be alive. The child was stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital. Police are investigating further."
