Case against unrest 'instigator' moved from NW to KZN

The case against a man accused of instigating tahe July unrest has been transferred from North West and will now be heard in KZN.

The Ventersdorp Magistrate's Court transferred the case against Matthews Ntjontjo to the Durban Regional Court on Friday.
The 51-year-old's case will now be heard next week, where a bail application is expected to take place.
Ntjontjo was arrested by the Hawks.

It has to do with the investigation into those who allegedly incited public violence through social media and other platforms during the riots last year.
Twenty-two other suspects were arrested and appeared in court on Friday, where they were granted R3 000 bail.
They all face charges of conspiracy to commit public violence, incitement to commit public violence and incitement to commit arson.
