The case against a Durban man who made racist comments against the Hindu community has been adjourned to next year.

In a post on Facebook over Diwali weekend, Kriel said Hindus should go back to India - referring to them as 'idol worshipers' and devil disciples.

Members of the ANC and the DA who opened a case against him were also in court.
Speaking outside court, the DA's Zwakele Mncwango said racism was like a cancer spreading through the country.
"Our position is not really about one individual, we are here to highlight the cancer that is spreading across SA - which is racism. Mr Kriel is one of the individuals who has posted something that shows there are so many South Africans are racist in this country. We are happy that at least he realizes he was wrong," he said.
