The members of the now disbanded Cato Manor Serious and Violent Crimes Unit made a brief appearance in the Durban High Court a short while ago.

The State’s reinstated racketeering charges against them.

In an appearance that lasted less than five minutes, Judge Shyam Giyanda postponed the matter after the defence indicated their intention to challenge the certificate of racketeering that's been served on the accused.

Booysen who handed himself over this morning had his bail of R5000 extended with the same conditions that applied previously that he hand over his passport and does not interfere with witnesses.

In court, the defence representing all 28 sought confirmation from the state that the indictment had not changed, that all statements have been disclosed, that the list of witnesses the state intends calling has not changed and should more witnesses be added the defence will be notified.
