The case against 65 people accused of instigating the July 2021 unrest in KwaZulu-Natal has been postponed to April.

The National Prosecuting Authority says some accused still need to secure legal representation.
"The case of the 65 alleged instigators charged in connection with the unrest and public violence that occurred in July 2021, in various parts of KwaZulu-Natal, returned to court today, where they made their first High Court appearance," says KZN NPA spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara.
"They face charges of conspiracy to commit public violence, incitement to commit public violence, terrorism, sedition, and conspiracy to commit murder, amongst others."
The appearance comes a day after the South African Human Rights Commission and the CRL Rights Commission released their reports on the violence.
