Capitec clients hit with unauthorised debit transactions
Updated | By Newswatch
Capitec bank says it's aware of a technical issue that's occurred between the company and another bank.
It's led to panic among some Capitec customers who woke up on Friday morning to bizarre transactions on their accounts.
Capitec says what happened is that clients who transacted on this particular bank's card machines had their accounts deducted twice.
Capitec has apologised for the inconvenience saying its IT team is working to rectify the issue.
The transactions will be reversed within the next 24 hours.
South Africans have been reacting to the transactions.
