Cannabis users to march in Durban for legalisation of plant
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Cannabis users in Durban will be joining a global march for the legalisation of the plant.
Some local supporters are expected to kick off their protest at Blue Lagoon at 9am on Satuarday.
Claire Campbell is one of the conveners.
"We will be marching up the promenade towards Suncoast Casino and there we will have two guest speakers."
Louise Maxwell, another march organiser, says the protest calls for the rejection of the private use bill.
"What they means is that they are going to stipulate how much somebody can keep in their private home and how you can privately cultivate and we don't like that."

Another supporter, Naveen Singh, says cannabis can boost the City's economy if given the chance.
"It can be used for so many different things, bio-fuel, textiles or paper - leaving out the medical side of which is the big benefit."
