Calls to jail exam leak culprits

The Basic Education Department is confident that they are closer to finding the source of the leaked matric exam paper.
The Maths paper was leaked in Giyani in Limpopo last week.
Department spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga says the Minister has given the investigation team six weeks to find the person who leaked the paper.
"We are calling for a jail term for the person who gave the learners that paper, because that's an adult who probably has employment with the education department. We want to make an example of such people," Mhlanga says.
Mhlanga says the pupils were in possession of the question paper will continue with their final exams until the investigation is complete.
"We want them to finish writing the exams. Should they be found guilty, they could be banned from writing the grade 12 examinations for up to three years," explains Mhlanga.
Last year the Life Science question paper was leaked at Marude Secondary school in the Vhembe district in Limpopo , after learners were found with the electronic version of the question paper.
