Calls for 'swift' action after Inanda woman’s horrific murder

Social Development officials in KZN are urging the police to act swiftly in apprehending those responsible for the rape and murder of a 53-year-old Inanda woman.
It's alleged Dumazihebi Sithole was out with friends when she was attacked.
Her burnt remains were found in Bhambayi’s Number Five Area.
The department's spokesperson Mhlabunzima Memela says the matter was reported to their Inanda Service Office on Tuesday.
He says Sithole's murder has left them shocked and horrified.

"We believe that our communities must also play a critical role in such cases of gender-based violence by providing information to our police so that all those perpetrators involved in such a brutal attack face the law.
"The MEC [Nonhlanhla Khoza] has called on communities to unite to isolate those involved in these brutal attacked of women and children."
A team of social workers has been dispatched to the family to provide psycho-social support and counselling to Sithole's friends and family.
