Cabinet reshuffle for KwaZulu-Natal

The ANC in KZN has announced several changes to its Provincial Cabinet.
At a media briefing in Durban a short while ago, the party announced that the MECs of Economic Development and Tourism, Education, Sports and Culture and Agriculture and Rural Development are all being replaced.
The party says the move follows an assessment of the functioning of all provincial government departments.
The party's Provincial Secretary Super Zuma says four MECs has been recalled.
"During the course of our evaluation and analysis, we came to a conclusion that change of leadership is necessary in the following departments. Sports, arts and culture; economic development and tourism affairs; education; and agriculture and rural development.
"Accordingly, the Provincial Executive Committee has mandated the Premier Willies Mchunu to make a determination on how to improve the work of these departments in line with the assessment report. Our primary task is to serve the masses of our people who continue to elect the ANC as the government of our province," he said.
This morning’s reshuffle follows the removal of Senzo Mchunu as the Premier two weeks ago. He’s been replaced by former Community Safety MEC, Willies Mchunu.
Senzo Mchunu’s exit began when he was replaced as ANC provincial chairman by the new Economic Development MEC, Sihle Zikalala at the party’s KZN elective conference last November.
