Buthelezi mourners turned away from private cultural rituals

The family of the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi had to turn away visiting mourners on Thursday.
A memorial service was held in Ulundi on Wednesday for the Inkatha Freedom Party founder.
As per African culture, the Prince’s family is expecting his body to arrive home from the mortuary on Friday, on the eve of the funeral.

Ahead of that, the men in the family assembled at the KwaPhindangene Royal Residence on Thursday morning to lead the private cultural rituals that need to be performed.
One family member told Newswatch the start had been delayed by mourners arriving to pay their respects.
KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube also met with the family on Thursday, meaning they were unable to receive others and had to turn them away to allow them the private time.
Police Minister Bheki Cele was also understood to also be on his way to the royal residence.
