Businesses urge KZN govt to redirect spending
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Some local business owners feel the province is squandering an opportunity to further build relationships between provincial government and small business.

Peter Munns from the South Coast Chamber of Commerce says provincial government is spending too much money on lavish events.
Speaking at the Post-budget event in Durban, hosted by provincial Treasury, Munns say the money could be chanelled towards job creation.
"We need the public and private sector to join hands, hearts and minds to make a difference. There is great potential in the agricultural sector but the growth has to come from the SMME sector.
"We've got 60% unemployment, 50% unemployment with youth. There are no more job opportunities and these have to be created within the informal and SMME sector," he said.
