Bus services not halted in KZN areas without trains
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Metrorail in KZN has denied reports that it will cut bus services to areas that are still without rail transport as a result of last month's storm.
A message on social media had suggested alternate transport would no longer be provided.
Several railway lines in the province were severely damaged by the Durban storm.
Isabel van der Westhuizen with Metrorail says alternate means will continue to be provided.
"The rumour that's going around is false. I'd like to inform our commuters that although we're still having a problem with the train services on the south coast, we will still be running buses as from 1 November until further notice," she says.

She's warning though that some repairs could take months.
"The lines affected are on the south coast line and the west line. They are still working on those two lines. On the south coast line, the repairs are expected to last three to six months but we're not too sure at the moment," she says.
