Bumper Easter weekend for KZN hospitality and tourism sector
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The Federated Hospitality Association of South Africa (Fedhasa) says KZN's hospitality and tourism industry is beaming with optimism thanks to the number of holidaymakers who visited the province over the long Easter weekend.

The hospitality association says while the stats are still being compiled, indications are that the figures this year exceeded business owners' expectations, with a steady recovery reported in the sector since the start of the pandemic.
Tourism was hard hit by Covid.
Then, the closure of beaches in Durban due to high E-coli levels kept many visitors away last year.
"The feedback we have so far speaking to hoteliers and restaurateurs around the province is being very positive with numbers being reported," says Fedhasa's Brett Tungay.
'We are weighing for final figures, which will be coming through later this week, but at this moment, what is coming through is that most establishments are reporting approximately 80% up to 100% occupancy for the weekend. Restaurants are reporting good turnover figures so it looks like it was a good weekend."
