There has been a breakthrough in the December double-murder of a Durban woman and her daughter.

The pair were met with a hail of bullets while in their car in Springfield Park.
The KZN Hawks say officers worked throughout Tuesday night and traced two suspects in KwaDukuza and Durban.
"Members proceed to Zinkwazi in Stanger where they arrested a 36-year-old male," says the crime-fighting unit's provincial spokesperson, Sibu Ncane.
"The police initiated an operation in search of the second suspect, who was traced to the freeway in Mount Edgecombe in Durban. Members attempted to intercept his vehicle, but he did not stop. Instead, he fired on the police, and the police returned fire, and the suspect's vehicle overturned in the high-speed chase. The suspect was fatally wounded."

The crime-fighting unit's provincial spokesperson, Sibu Ncane, says a pistol was found inside the car of the suspect who was killed.
Ncane says the 36-year-old apprehended on the north coast led them to a third man in the early hours of this morning.
"The suspect furnished information about another suspect who was at Greenwood Park. Police proceeded there and managed to arrest a 37-year-old male. One firearm, a 9mm pistol, was also confiscated with 13 rounds by the police, which will be subjected to ballistic tests. Both suspects were charged with double murder."
