A woman has been handed a life sentence for killing her boyfriend before setting his vehicle alight in Nongoma.
The Pietermaritzburg High Court handed down the sentence on Tuesday.
Nonjabulo Nkosi hired a hitman, Xolani Mtambo, to kill her partner, but the plan was foiled.
She subsequently acquired a gun and petrol to execute the murder on her own.
Mtambo was given the same sentence by the court.

Dumisani Qwabe's burnt remains were found in his car on the road between Nongoma and Pongola in October 2021.
"Nkosi was sentenced to a further five years imprisonment for theft," says KZN NPA spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara.
"Both accused were declared unfit to possess a firearm."
