Updated | By Nondumiso Zakwe
A six-year-old-boy has been saved from drowning in a northern KwaZulu-Natal dam.
Community members in the rural Rookdale area near Bergville pulled the child out of the water.
He was found floating face down in the dam.
When KZN Emergency Medical Service paramedics arrived they took over from residents who had already brought the boy back to consciousness after performing CPR on him.
The little man was stabilised on scene before he was taken through to a nearby hospital.
Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
