Boy, 11, drowns at La Mercy Lagoon

An inquest docket has been opened following the drowning of a young boy at La Mercy Lagoon on the north coast.
On Thursday, the 11-year-old boy disappeared under the water while swimming with seven other children from a nearby settlement.
Netcare911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst says the body was recovered later after a joint search operation by various teams.
