Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Former KZN Hawks Head, Johan Booysen says he'll be going ahead with his civil action against the State.
He and 26 other members of the disbanded Cato Manor Serious and Violent Crimes Unit are had racketeering and murder charges against them withdrawn in the Durban High Court - following a seven-year battle.
They were arrested in 2012 for their alleged involvement in the so-called 'Cato Manor' death squad.

Booysen, who headed the Hawks in KZN, says he'll be meeting with his legal team this week.
It's reported other members are also planning on suing the State.
One of the members died a day after the charges were dropped.

Booysen says Ajith Ghaness had been sick for some time. He says they're all saddened by his death.
"On the day of the court case, I actually asked the members to visit him in hospital to explain to him what was going on. They phoned me on the following day and told me he was on a ventilator. Half an hour later, he had passed away. Although he was very sick - we hoped for the best. It came as a shock to us when we were told he had passed on," Booysen adds.
