Booysen, co-accused back in court
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
Members of the now-disbanded Cato Manor Serious and Violent Crimes Unit have begun arriving at the Durban High Court.
The 28 including KZN Hawks Head Johan Booysen have been charged with racketeering.
The doors to the High Court are opening this hour while proceedings are expected to get underway at 10am.
Booysen who is out on bail will line up with 27 others in the dock. He was heading the unit which was accused of operating a death squad.
It's expected his legal team will be challenging the certificate of racketeering which was served on the accused.
During his last appearance in February, Booysen indicated his confidence in his legal team's challenge of the racketeering charges against him based on the fact that the charges, witness list and the indictment had not changed.
The NPA maintains Booysen and his co-accused have a case to answer.
The court previously found in favour of the accused.
