Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Police in Pietermaritzburg are investigating the cause of an accident in Townhill following yesterday's recovery of the body of one of the victims -17 hours after the crash.
Officials say three men had been travelling on the N3 highway on Friday night when their vehicle overturned.
According to ER24, all three were flung out of the car but paramedics found only two of the men near the scene, one of whom was declared dead and the other seriously hurt.
It is understood yesterday afternoon a construction worker discovered the body of the third man about 100 metres down an embankment from where the crash happened the previous night.
Medics were called back to the scene where the man’s family and friends had also gathered to search for him.
He too was declared dead on the scene by emergency medical personnel.
