Body of missing toddler found in Phoenix
A Durban family is devastated after the body of their baby who went missing over the weekend was found in Phoenix.
Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says there was a massive search for the one-year-old boy after he disappeared on Saturday morning.
"This boy was reported missing from the Amaoti area on the 30th of last month. The community members together with the family started to look for the boy but they could not find him."
Zwane says yesterday they searched the bushes and found a decomposed body.
"We have opened a case of murder for further investigation. The motive for the killing is unknown and there are no arrests yet," he said.
KZN VIP Medical and Rescue attended the scene - and say the child was found with a plastic packet over his head.
