Body of missing Eastern Cape caregiver found under bathtub
Updated | By Algoa FM
A two-year-long search for a missing Eastern Cape caregiver has ended in tragedy.
Noluvuyo Ndema-Nonkwelo's decapitated body had been buried in Dutywa.
The 34-year-old was employed by the Eastern Cape Department of Health as an HIV & AIDS lay counsellor.
She was reported missing two years ago by her 43-year-old husband.
He has since been arrested.
Police say a family member became suspicious when they saw the bathtub the family home no longer mounted on the floor.
The person called the police, which led to the grim discovery.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
The discovery of Ndema-Nonkwelo's body comes as the Eastern Cape is still reeling from the similar gruesome murder of Fort Hare final year law student Nosicelo Mtebeni.
She was killed and dismembered in East London two weeks ago.
A suspect is also in custody for her murder.
