Twenty-eight-year-old Sinegugu Myeni’s remains will arrive home in the next few days.

Simelane said a businessman funded the repatriation effort.

"There is a good samaritan, who's a business person who has actually paid for the repatriation, the 220 or 250 000 that was required," Simelane said.

Myeni, who was from Utrecht in northern KZN, passed away last week following a short illness.

She was in her final year of studies.

Simelane said some medical processes still need to be finalised.

"We are just now waiting for one certificate that must be signed by the attending doctor and therefore the body is no longer going to arrive in the country on the 22nd, but it will take us another few days for the body to come."
