Search and Rescue officials have recovered the body of a Tongaat man who went missing during this past weekend’s floods in KZN.

He is believed to be one half of a couple who got into trouble during the torrential rain on Saturday night.
The woman's body was found earlier on Tuesday.

"A short while ago, K9 was able to locate the body of the man. Due to inaccessibility, SAPS helicopter was activated and was able to retrieve the body. He has been handed over to SAPS for further investigation,” says IPSS Medical Rescue's Samatha Meyrick.
Local government authorities say the number of fatalities from the weekend storms across all KZN districts currently stands at 16.
