A man has drowned at a beach on the KZN south coast.
KZN EMS's Robert McKenzie says the 23-year-old was taken out of the water at the Mpanjati river mouth at Glenmore beach, by bystanders.
"Paramedics from KZN EMS responded to the scene and found that sadly, he had already passed away by the time they had arrived. The exact circumstances leading up to the man drowning are not known at this stage, and are going to be investigated by police," he said.

McKenzie says that the increase in temperatures has resulted in a spike in the number of drowning incidents that they have responded to - as more people tend to frequent local beaches during the summer months.
He has urged people to be extremely cautious around bodies of water.
