Bodies of four Free State children found in old car
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Police in Free State are investigating the circumstances which led to four young children suffocating to death inside an old car.
The three boys and a girl, who were trapped inside the car, were found by their 72-year-old grandmother.
Free State police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring says the police received a complaint from a house in Petsana on Wednesday afternoon.
"On arrival police found three boys and one girl lying next to a silver Volvo S40 sedan and all four children were already certified dead.”

Mophiring says the kids were apparently last seen that morning, playing outside under supervision of the grandmother.
"When granny went to look for them, she could not find them until at about 16:30 when one of the family members found them in the old car unconscious.
"They tried to open the doors, but the doors were locked from the inside until they forcefully opened it and took all four children out and called the emergency personnel."
The children were aged between two and four years.
