Blood bank urges locals to give the gift of life this festive season
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
The South African National Blood Service is urging donors to come forward as we approach the festive season.
The service is calling on South Africans to give the gift of life and help it achieve the 3,000 units that need to be collected everyday.
KwaZulu-Natal currently has a blood stock of just 1.8 days, ideally a reserve of five days is required.
